Visit to the remains of the ancient Convent of San Vettore
From the farn Pietralta, a white road immersed in a dense forest leads to the ancient Convent of San Vettore, restored and transformed into an accommodation facility by the Niesel couple, the current owners.
The first historical records of the monastery date back to the 11th century, when San Vettore was inhabited by the Vallombrosani monks and the Benedictine nuns who built here the cloister, their dormitory and other monastic rooms whose ancient remains are still visible today, next to ruins of the Romanesque church.
A light lunch can be booked at the Pietralta farm by reservation.
The light lunch includes:
- 1 primo piatto;
- 1 cheese board;
- croutons and cold cuts;
- wine (€12 per person).

People from age 8 and up can participate. The activity may not be suitable for clients with disabilities
The route is about 2 Kmand the activity is for experienced hikers only.
Though the guide accompanies the group, each participant is responsible for his or her own preparation and physical condition. The route is a trail through nature with a rough surface and uneven footing in which there is a risk of falling and which requires a high level of physical exertion.
IMPORTANT: The guides possess third party liability insurance by law. The participants on the excursion are NOT covered by personal accident insurance.
Comfortable clothing, athletic shoes, water, sun hat, rain gear in case of poor weather, and a backpack. Hiking poles and camera.
Organization and coordination of the activity is by an official hiking guide certified according to regional law 86/2016The guides reserve the right to change or cancel the run in case of adverse weather or situations with risk or danger for the participants.
