In Tuscany, the recovery of a place rich in history consecrates a new concept of hospitality, taste and beauty.

In Gambassi Terme, once a crossroads of interests and business, a farmhouse was languishing in abandonment, abused over the years but ready to be dusted off by the spectre of solitude to shine a new bright light.

When Massimo and Roberta saw it, proud and decadent, they saw its future. They shared a vision, pervaded by the will to change its space and to make hospitality its raison d’être. A place of well-being, true cuisine and beauty everywhere.

Let’s take a step back: Roberta Mazzaccheri and Massimo Farioli, wife and husband – she was a visual merchandiser with thirty years of experience at the Moncini Art Gallery in Montecatini and he was a footwear sales manager – decide to break a predetermined path and make a courageous choice .

For Roberta and Massimo the Osteria del Castagno became a fixed and obstinate objective: “I firmly knew”, says Roberta, “that re-evaluating this place at its best and not exploiting it only commercially would bring back that now hidden and sad beauty into the air”.

It took some time but in August 2016, the Osteria was inaugurated and from day one, it has been continuously looking for quality, thanks to the nearby farms, Simone Gozzi’s refined cooking and the scenographic attention paid to the restaurant set up.
