A cradle where to recharge, where to be pampered in a discreet way<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

Corriere della Sera, year 1978<\/strong>. Ads page: \u201cFor sale farmhouse in Tuscany,<\/em>\u201d followed by a phone number. It was enough to convince Franca Lattuada and her husband to leave Milan for an idea of life that needed the land to grow. <\/span><\/p>\n

So it was that these two outsiders arrived in Gambassi Terme, or rather, to be precise on a hill nestled in the woods<\/strong> several kilometers from the town, near the ancient Benedictine Convent of San Vettore-where Santa Fina da San Gimignano lived-on the historic route of the Via Salaiola that connected Volterra to Florence.<\/span><\/p>\n

All this they discovered in time because for the first four years, these two pioneers worked tirelessly to renovate the beautiful 1200 farmhouse<\/strong> and restore the uncultivated, young and promising vineyards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, the adventure can be said to have borne excellent fruit: the farmhouse has come back to life and is a cozy agritourism, the winery is working at full capacity, and Franca’s son Stefan has inherited a passion for the countryside, staying, cultivating and producing good wine. <\/span><\/p>\n

Their footprint, however, it must be said, is light: on the thirty-seven acres<\/strong> of the property every production is organic<\/strong>, even the energy production is clean.<\/span><\/p>\n

And this attention can be felt in the balance between architecture and landscape<\/strong>, between the times of work and the times of nature, in Franca’s passion for contemporary art, which here translates into color and form, the energetic force of the earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Going up to Pietralta is an experience of space-time disconnection; it is a cradle where one can recharge, where one can be pampered in a discreet way, and where one can feel among friends.<\/span><\/p>\n

The farmhouse offers hospitality in apartments for 2, 4 or 6 people and keeps the historic structure intact by offering authentic-looking environments.<\/span><\/p>\n
